Embedded Project on Beacon Flasher Using Microcontroller

ABSTRACT:

This project is designed to give flashing light simulating beacon light for the most part utilized as a part of shipyards, seashores and so on. It is likewise utilized as a part of the middle of the sea to warn ships about the hidden rocks.

A programmable microcontroller from 8051 family is locked in to give flashing light at periodical intervals according to the training took after sea shores, shipyards and so on. A low voltage light of 12V is driven by a power MOSFET in PWM mode which is gotten from a microcontroller.

The duty cycle of the PWM must be changed depending upon the kind of application. As the controller gives just 5v drive, it isn’t possible for the MOSFET to be dependably switched ON at that voltage. An interfacing transistor is utilized between the controller output and the MOSFET for driving the same.

Further, the project can be improved by utilizing a high power 230V lamp in combination with solid-state exchanging for better visibility.
