The project to designed accomplish control over the railway level crossing door through SMS sent by the station master or driver. Opening and closing of railway level crossing involve manpower, which could be often erroneous leading to accidents.
The proposed framework discounts the need for any human involvement at the railway level crossing. This framework includes opening and shutting of the level crossing entryway with help of an SMS.
A GSM modem is interfaced with the framework. At the point when the driver or station master sends an SMS “close” (when the prepare is drawing closer at the level intersection) to the modem then the microcontroller interfaced to the modem sends a yield flag which initiates a component to switch on the engine to close the gate.
To open the gate, another SMS “open” should be sent for the microcontroller to open the gate with help of engine driver IC. In this task, we utilize a microcontroller of 8051 family, and the contribution to it is a GSM modem which gets the SMS from the client.
The yield to a microcontroller is given to an engine through an engine driver IC for required activity. The status regardless of whether the entryway is open/close is shown on an LCD show interfaced to the microcontroller.
